to find our nanny and had a pretty good
experience. I used the 7-day free trial
to post the position and received 50+
responses within 2 days. The catch with
the free trial is that you can't view
the full profiles and contact the people
who are applying. So we then paid for
the membership ... It didn't take long at all to find a nanny, but it was a bit overwhelming to go through all of the applicant info! Good luck!

I used Sittercity because it was a website I have heard other people use before with good success ... It was pretty overwhelming to find a nanny, especially with all of the people just looking for a job out there. I narrowed the search by just focusing on people who had infant experience, which helped. It took me a month to find a nanny, but honestly, I could have probably shortened the search to 2 weeks, including doing both phone and in-person interviews. It was just hard for me to find the time to do it."

I have used www.sittercity.com for evening babysitters - so I imagine you could find child care for longer term on there too. The upside - some already have background checks/reviews. The downside - it isn't free to use. There was a initial fee (I forget how much) and now it is 9.99/mth that we pay. But we have 2 really good sitters from it - so it's worth it to me!"
